We Support People
For nearly five years, our mission has remained the same: to help families send their children to university. When the burden of financial worry is removed, students are able to fully focus on becoming their best in preparation for the future.
Through our work, we create pathways that empower young people to succeed and, in turn, uplift their families and communities. We provide opportunities for students from the Niger Delta through scholarships that grant access to quality higher education, removing barriers and opening doors that would otherwise remain closed.
We are committed to transforming the future of every child we support—through comprehensive funding, mentorship, and a lifelong community that continues to guide and uplift them beyond the classroom.

The OSF STEM Scholarship
OUR PROGRAMS
Annual Full Scholarship Cover for STEM Undergrads
By removing the financial burden of their higher education and providing scholars with career guidance, OSF creates an enabling environment in which students can devote their full attention to learning and personal development.
To enable students take full advantage of their opportunities, OSF provides quarterly well-curated mentorship delivered by industry professionals, along with career exposure, and personal guidance.
Altogether, this ensures that scholars not only navigate their academic journeys successfully but prepare for meaningful real life careers.
Mentorship for Leadership
The HNS program is designed for undergraduate women aged 18–25, delivering a structured experience centred on themed mentorship, guided discussions on societal issues and personal development, and personalised action plans.
At this critical stage of development, the program provides targeted support to help participants navigate academic and career decisions, strengthen self-belief, and build essential leadership capabilities. By creating a safe and empowering environment, HNS fosters growth, accountability, and the development of a strong personal foundation.
Through guided mentorship over an 11-month period, participants are nurtured into emerging leaders. The program culminates in a final showcase comprising two key projects: a community impact initiative and a personal project focused on personal brand clarity and development, ensuring each participant leaves with both practical experience and a defined sense of direction.
OUR STORY
The Ojah Scholarship Foundation (OSF) is founded on belief in the transformative power of education. The Foundation is named in honour of Oja, born in 1939 in Oginibo, Delta State, Nigeria-an extraordinary woman who embodied wisdom and a strong commitment to learning.
Though she received no formal education herself, Oja was a passionate advocate for education and worked tirelessly to ensure that her two surviving children had access to basic schooling.
OSF also draws inspiration from the pivotal act of kindness in the mid-1960s that altered the course of this family forever. During his service in Nigeria with the American Peace Corps, Mr. John Ellinger provided financial support for a university education to Oja's son, a brilliant young man who had lost his father and become the provider for his family. With this support, Foghi completed a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Benin, Edo State, an opportunity that reshaped his future.
The gratitude for this gift of education remains deeply ingrained in his heart and continues to be shared across generations. The Ojah Scholarship Foundation stands as a tribute to this selfless act and the enduring ripple effect of educational access.
The Foundation is further shaped by the shared journey of its founders-two individuals raised in the Warri community of DSC Ovwian-Aladja, who attended the same secondary school and later left home to pursue higher education and life beyond their roots. Though their paths ran parallel for years, they would eventually build a life together and unite around a common purpose.
Both carry a passion for education and poverty eradication.
OSF represents their collective vision of giving back—investing intentionally in young people from the Niger Delta by removing financial barriers and nurturing talent to sustainable futures. Through STEM-focused scholarships, mentorship, and community, the Foundation seeks not only to support individual scholars but also to contribute meaningfully to regional development and long-term social impact.
OSF honors its legacy while looking forward, supporting scholars who will shape tomorrow.
The Ojah Scholarship Foundation is a private, nonprofit organisation domiciled in Nigeria and also registered with the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission (ACNC).
